I always had had a positive experience dealing with this location. Most recently I brought in a 22 year old small Toro snowblower that I couldn't get started no matter . I had expected to be advised that it was time to purchase another. To my surprise the owner encouraged me to allow them to rebuild the carb. and make some engine adjustments. I was told that the engine was a B & S and worth the investment. 5 days latter I was called to p/u the machine which was repaired at a VERY reasonable cost. I've used it twice this last week and it operates just like it did when new. Great advice and service at a price unheard of in todays market. Thank you very much again. And yes, it does smell and look just like a hardware store from the 60's and 70's. They have everything you might need or want. Most recently I've visited Hectors Hardware and had an axe sharpened, a maul sharpened while I waited and last week I had my Toro two stage snowblower tuned up for the winter season. Dropped it off in the afternoon and it was ready for p/u in the morning. The price was half of what I've been charged in the past. I've waited weeks for service in the past elsewhere. This is a wonderful store to do business with.

Knowledgeable staff. Bill keeps place well stocked, has comparative pricing, and has a great repair shop. When I need something, I go to the Hector's on Clinton St first.

I have an old house with an old clawfoot bathtub shower curtian rod that broke. Home depot was completely not helpful at all and wanted me to buy a whole new shower rod. I went to Hectors at 7pm and the guy behind the counter listened to my issue, looked at the part and picked it up and went into his workshop and fixed it. I cannot recommend Hectors enough! This is an old fashioned American Hardware store. WIlling to help with something so tiny. Go here first before going to a big box store.

The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful. I needed p v c plumbing fittings, they had them. He was very nice and gave educated answers to my questions. A very nice place, everything tidy and clean and in order many parts available. Great selection, we'll definitely frequent there when possible.

I've been spending a lot of time in Buffalo's Keysertown for the last two years, always seeing Hector's Hardware store on the way, and just today I stepped inside. This is without a doubt the best, most stocked, and well managed locally owned hardware store, if not amongst one of the better ones. The owner was kind, professional, quick, and light hearted. When one thinks of "pops and moms" owned stores, the ones with charm and exactly what one needs, Hector's Hardware store certainly comes to mind.
